Elephant Safari

Guests who want an up-close and personal encounter with the magnificent animals in Chitwan should consider an elephant safari. The best part? You'll be able to get a close look at the community forest's wildlife without scaring them away! This trip will last about one hour, and you'll be able to enjoy it all while getting photographs galore as well.

Tentative Programme for One Night

 

  • Arrival at Safari Narayani Hotel. The Lodge is strategically located on an elevated bluff that overlooks the Rapti River and the Chitwan National Park beyond. Lunch (fixed menu) will be served upon arrival.
  • A short Briefing on the Elephant by our naturalist at the elephant stable.
  • Later Afternoon, Guests will visit an ethnic Tharu Village and Farm land on foot. The surrounding farmland and villages have a pulse of its own, giving it a sense of timelessness. An experienced guide will accompany you.
  • Upon returning you will be free to retire to your rooms or perhaps join company around the lodge. Shortly thereafter dinner (fixed menu) will be served at the restaurant.

 

 

  • Morning: wakeup call, timing varies depending on the season.
  • Tea/coffee will be served.
  • Elephant Safari in the Community Jungle (Chitwan National Park - Buffer Zone) which will take around 15 to 20 minutes drive. Elephant Safari is the most preferred way to spot wildlife from up close. The Elephant can go close to a wild animal without noticing that there are people on the elephant back. The animals are numerous and freguent sightings. The safari will be for about One hour to one and half hours.
  • Breakfast will serve on your return from the Elephant Safari. You will have a spectacular view of the Rapti River and the Chitwan National Park from your breakfast table.
  • Departure will be after breakfast

    Bird Watching on the banks of the Rapti River and Community Jungle. Chitwan National Park is home to over 600 species of Resident and Migrant (summer & winter) birds. It is the paradise for Birdwatchers.
  • Lunch (fixed menu) will be served and a short rest.
  • After lunch and a short rest, a ride in a Traditional Dug-out Canoe will take you from the lodge to the Crocodile Breeding Centre of Chitwan National Park for the conservation of endangered genetic crocodiles know as Gharial and Marsh Mugger. The decade - long programme has been a great success in releasing both endangered species back in the wild. The ride is on the Rapti River for approximately 5km. On this silent ride, you will get an opportunity to view aquatic birds and animals on the river banks.
  • From the Crocodile Breeding Centre, you will begin your Jungle (Nature) walk approximate two and half hours. You will be accompanied by a trained naturalist and trace. The latter will walk some distance ahead to check on animal movement on the trail ahead. You are advised to closely follow the instructions of the naturalist at all times.

It is an exciting ride on an open jeep into the dense jungle for a good chance to spot rare species of mammal and birds and different types of jungles vegetation. The Jeep Safari will be approximate for about three hours.
  • You will return to the Lodge and have lunch.
  • Afternoon: Elephant Safari in the Community Jungle (Chitwan National Park - Buffer Zone).
